Chennai Metro commissions 428 KWp Solar Power Plants at 2 more stations

Chennai: The CMRL (Chennai Metro Rail Limited) commissioned another 428 KWp Solar PV Power Plant in Roof Top area of 2 elevated stations – OTA and Meenambakkam railway stations. It will expected to generate around 57780 units per month and save the cost of around Rs. 26,34,768 lakhs per year.  

More Information:

  • These Solar Plant Project were executed under Zero Capital Investment by CMRL and based on RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) Model under SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) Scheme, payable by monthly Tariff basis.
  • The Generated Solar Power will be utilised for own demand.
  • The total installed capacity of Roof Top Solar Power by CMRL is 4.1 MWp.
  • Another 2.5 MWp Roof Top Solar Power installation is under progress which will be  complete by end 2019.
