European Investment Bank Vice President & Team visits Pune Metro

Pune: The European Investment Bank (EIB) team visited the Metro site in reach-3 at Ram wadi Station and underground tunnel boring work at agriculture College grounds. The EIB team did enquiry about the relief and rehabilitation work. Also enquired about compensation provided by Metro, where they have acquired land and about the fair compensation given to the land owners.

MahaMetro officials informed that all land parcels were taken with direct purchase and compensation given as per relief and rehabilitation policy of government of Maharashtra. MahaMetro officials also informed at Pune we have transplanted more than 1400 trees and also planted more than 14,000 news trees at different location in the Pune city and the survival rate of transplanted trees is very high.

The EIB team headed by Mr Andrew McDowell, VP, EIB satisfied about the 600 m tunnel work in less than two months time. The EIB team enquires about the facilities for women’s and physically challenged in metro coaches. MahaMetro officials informed about the special ladies coach in each train and earmarked seats for Divyang, expecting mother’s and wheel chair bound passengers.

The EIB team satisfies about the overall 37% work completion by Pune Metro in record 30 months time.
