Gurgaon Metro Update: RITES To Prepare DPR (Detailed Project Report) For Metro Route Between Huda City Centre & Gurgaon Railway Station

Gurgaon: The state government has asked RITES to prepare detailed project report (DPR) for the around 12km Metro rail route between Huda City Centre & Gurgaon railway station. Officials said, RITES is expected to submit the report within 6 months.

  • “Rites will submit the DPR in six months, by the end of August. This route between the Huda City Centre and the Gurgaon railway station spans nearly 12km,” Nadim Akhtar, chief town planner, Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), said.
  • In the first ever meeting of the GMDA (Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority), chaired by chief minister Manhor Lal Khattar on January 31, the proposed Metro routes were discussed at length.
  • In their response to the feedback sought by the GMDA last year, more than 85 percent residents had voted in favour of the HCC-Dwarka Sector 21 route.
  • The route spans 27.5km and involves higher capital costs, officials said.

The 27.5-km route from Huda City Centre to Dwarka Sector 21 was to cover-

  1. Subhash Chowk on Sohna Road
  2. Hero Honda Chowk
  3. Sectors 10A,10,9,9A
  4. ESI Hospital
  5. Chowk of Sector 4 and 5 (including the railway station and adjoining area)
  6. Sector 23
  7. Chauma rail crossing
  8. Bijwasan border


  • The projected cost of the 12-km long HCC-Gurgaon railway station route is Rs 2,751 crore.
  • The estimated cost of the 27.5-km Dwarka to Sector 21 route is Rs 5,491 crore.
