Lucknow Metro Awarded With The International ‘Royal Society For The Prevention Of Accidents’ (RoSPA) Gold Award, 2019

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation won the International ‘Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)- Gold Award’ for entire North-South corridor (Phase-1A) in the Project/Infrastructure category. RoSPA is a British charity organization that aims for promotion of safety and prevention of accidents in project execution world over. This award was presented to Mr. Ankur Sharma, JGM Safety, LMRC in a ceremony at Glasgow, United Kingdom on 12th September, 2019 in recognition of its safe practices and achievements in helping its staff/customers/clients/contractors while they worked in the Project during execution of this Project throughout the year 2018.

Shri. Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, LMRC, said ‘RoSPA Gold Award, 2019’, is the most prestigious international Award for the best safety performance to Lucknow Metro Rail Project is a recognition of extreme hard work by team of LMRC including the Contracting Agencies, Consultants and Construction workmen in delivering this complex project to the best of international standards. I must congratulate all of them for this wonderful achievement.

Till date, this award in India has been mainly received by the private agencies in the infrastructure projects and Oil and Gas industries in public sector – but LMRC is the first Metro Rail Corporation to receive this prestigious International award in Gold Category after completing the entire Project ahead of its schedule with all the safety measures and systems in place during the execution of the Project.

Ms. Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said; “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”

Earlier, LMRC had also received the prestigious RoSPA Award in Silver Category in 2018 for the safety performance of the Year 2017.
