The construction work of 8.9 Km priority corridor from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to Moti Jheel is ongoing at rapid pace. The piling work for 18 pillars at IIT Kanpur Metro Station is completed along with the piling work for 26 Pillars of the Via-duct. Casting of the first Pile-Cap of the priority corridor was also accomplished today.
This was remarked by Managing Director of UPMRC Shri Kumar Keshav, while reviewing the progress of civil construction work of Kanpur Metro project. He himself appreciated the entire team along with other metro officials after seeing the satisfactory progress.
Managing Director felt quite satisfied with the construction work of the bed foundation (moldings for casting U-girder) at casting yard, soon from which multiple U-girders shall be casted. Pier caps, U-girder which are used for metro construction are casted here in the casting yard. Casting yard are always constructed near to the primary section of Metro Construction Site, for the easier transportation of the U-girders, and Pier Caps to the construction site at the time of requirement.
Expressing his satisfaction Shri Kumar Keshav instructed the executing agencies to maintain their same speed of work to achieve the desire target. He also motivated and encouraged the entire team for the commendable quality of project work in a span of 21 days.
