MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner, Shri R. A. Rajiv Visits LMRC

Chief Commissioner of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) Shri R. A. Rajiv visited the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation on his recent visit to the city. He was welcomed by senior officials of LMRC at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport Metro Station. Mr. Rajiv travelled with senior officials of LMRC from CCS Airport to Hazratganj Metro Station and was apprised about the Lucknow Metro project in detail including all the important aspects of civil construction and operation. The Metropolitan Commissioner (MC), of MMRDA lauded LMRC for implementing the Metro project equipped with world class facilities before the scheduled time period and within the allocated budget.

During his visit on 20th July 2019, Shri Rajeev interacted with Metro officials about the various aspects of the Lucknow Metro project- the stretch of the North-South corridor, fare distribution, challenges faced during the construction phase, features of Rolling Stocks, security and safety provisions within the metro stations and in trains, ridership pattern, headway, etc.

During his visit from CCS Airport to Hazratganj Metro Station, he also appreciated the connectivity of the Charbagh Metro Station to Charbagh railway station (NR) along with the direct interconnectivity of Durgapuri Metro station and NER Railway station.

Shri Rajiv was especially impressed by the beautiful artwork at the underground metro stations including the stone dust painting at the CCS Airport metro station inspired by the popular Madhubani art form, the spectacular depiction of the chikankari embroidery at the Hazratganj and the grand representation of the Vidhan Bhawan at the Sachivalaya Metro station. Shri Rajiv congratulated LMRC MD Shri Kumar Keshav for successfully completing the Lucknow metro project in a well planned manner in such a densely populated city much ahead of the stipulated time.
