Mumbai Metro Line 4 Project : Bidding schedule extended for 234 Standard Gauge Metro Coaches of Mumbai Metro Line 4

Recently , Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) announced extension to bidding dates for Contract No. CA-71/MRS2: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing And Commissioning Of 234 Nos. Standard Gauge Cars Including Training Of Line 4 And Extension Corridor [Wadala – Kasarvadavali -gaimukh] Of Mumbai Metro Rail Project.

The tender was announced last year in December & the MMRDA had invited bids for procuring 234 metro coaches for Mumbai Metro Line-4 from Wadala to Kasarvadavali and 4A.

The Coaches , once awarded , are expected to be delivered in 144 weeks .

The Line : Metro Line 4 from Wadala to Kasarvadavali is 32.32 km long elevated corridor with 32 stations. It will provide interconnectivity among the existing Eastern Express Roadway, Central Railway, Mono Rail, the ongoing Metro Line 2B (D N Nagar to Mandale), and the proposed Metro Line 5 (Thane to Kalyan), Metro Line 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli) & Metro Line 8 (Wadala to General Post Office). 

The 2.7-km long Metro-4A Line is an extension to the 32-km long Wadala to Kasarwadavali Metro-4 corridor. The extension will ensure that the entire Ghodbunder Road in Thane city is connected by Metro.
