Pune Metro Train runs on track by drawing power from overhead cable

1.4 Km of the overhead electric cable was energised by Pune metro on 9.1.2020 in PCMC- Sant Tukaram Nagar station. Pune metro recently received two trains of three coach each and they have been inducted and placed in track. On 10.1.2020, the train draw the power from the overhead electric cable and run on track. This is indeed a great day for Pune metro project which achieved this rare fete in record 30 months time.

This was possible to achieve because Pune metro completed the foundation work, pillar work, metro span launching work, track laying, electric pole erection, overhead cable fixing and commissioning of metro trains in scheduled and systematic manner. The train running proved the complete synchronisation of various tasks and precursor of the technical trail runs.

Pune metro already approached research design and standardisation organisation (RDSO), commissioner Metro rail safety (CMRS) and Railway board for obtaining various statutory permissions require for train operation. The authorities will visit and inspect the preparations before granting requisite permissions. After getting permissions from these authorities Pune Metro could able to run the commercial services on trial.

On this historic day MahaMetro MD Dr Brijesh Dixit said ” this rare fete was possible due to tremendous support from Punekars and all the government authorities”
