Scope of Work:

  • Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Government of Karnataka and Government of India for implementing Bangalore Metro Rail Project.

BMRCL Phase-I project comprises of two corridors as detailed below:

  • The two corridors cross at a common interchange station at Kempegowda Station (Previously known as Majestic) which is a two level station.
  • A maintenance depot is located at Baiyappanahalli on the Purple line and at Peenya on the Green Line. An Integrated Operation Control Centre (OCC) for both the corridors is located at Baiyappanahalli Depot and a Back-up Control Centre (BCC) is located at Peenya Depot.
  • Both the corridors are commissioned and under revenue service. The mode of traction power is 750V DC Third Rail bottom collection. The track is of Standard Gauge (1435 mm). Phase-I of the project was commissioned in June 2017.
  • BMRCL is proceeding with the implementation of Phase-2 of the project. The sanctioned Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Phase-2 envisages extension of existing two corridors viz. East-West (Purple line) and North-South (Green Line) Corridors comprising elevated sections and construction of two new lines Reach-5 and Reach-6.

Interchange Stations of different lines:

  • The common interchange station between Reach-6 line and Phase-28 line is at Nagavara station.
  • The common interchange station between Phase-2A and Reach-5 is at Central Silk Board station.
  • The common interchange station between Phase-2A and Line-1 is at KR Puram Station. Maintenance Depots are located at Baiyappanahalli for Phase-2A & 2B and Trumpet Depot for Phase-2B.
  • An Integrated Operation Control Centre (OCC) is being constructed at Baiyappanahalli for Reach-5, Reach-6, Phase-2A (ORR) & Phase-2B (Airport line) and a Back-up Control Centre (BCC) is located at Peenya. 

Details of lines for Communication Systems works under this tender are described below:

  • BMRCL intends to invite suitably eligible and qualified Indian and International Tenderers to submit Tenders through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) for ‘Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Communication Systems for Reach-6, Phase-2A and Phase-2B’.

The brief scope of works under this Tender includes but not limited to:

  • Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Communication Systems for Reach-6, Phase-2A and Phase-2B lines which include four depots, 49 stations, total 53 numbers of Train Sets (6 Car consist) and works at OCC/ BCC,
  • Training to the operation and maintenance staff,
  • Supply of Spares,
  • Transfer of Technology,
  • Documentation,
  • Maintenance support during Defect Liability Period (DLP), and
  • Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) services as specified in Employer’s Requirements, Schedule-11 of Special Conditions of the Contract and details of AMC terms and conditions in Appendix -2B5 of ERTS.
  • Augmentation of 96F OFC cable in existing sections of Line-1 & line-2 (I.e., Phase-1 & Phase-1 Ext).
  • The detailed Scope of Works to be undertaken by the Contractor is further described in the Employer’s Requirements (Volume-3) of tender documents.
  • The Contractor shall establish facilities for ‘transfer of technology’ either independently or with a Partner of proven track record in relative areas for all imported systems/ sub-systems. The transfer of technology shall cover the areas listed out in Employer’s Requirements.
  • The Contractor shall also carry out effective interface, coordination and obtaining statutory clearances from relevant Authorities like Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), BESCOM, Fire and Emergency Services Department, Electrical Inspectorate, KPWD, Pollution Control Board, Designated Contractors (Civil and Electrical) and any other stakeholders appointed by the Employer from time to time, during the Contract Period.
  • The Contractor shall be responsible for carrying out Integrated testing and Commissioning of Communication System in co-ordination with designated Contractors under supervision of Engineer. Also, carry out all statutory tests and trials necessary for obtaining sanction of the Competent Authority for opening the Services connected with public carriage of passengers and provide assistance and information as required by the appropriate statutory authorities in India.
  • The Contractor shall be required to undertake supervision and maintenance of the entire Communication Systems supplied under the Contract and guarantees the supply of spares. Further, the Contractor shall maintain the Communication Systems up to Five (5) years beyond DLP under Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC).
  • The successful Tenderer will be required to set up a Project office in Bengaluru to enable their design/drawing development and the project construction work to be monitored and checked by BMRCL’s authorised representatives.
