BCPL secures Rs. 71 crore contract from RVNL for electric traction system upgrade on Kharagpur-Bhadrak section

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd. has won a Rs. 71 crore contract for upgrading the electric traction system from 1 x 25 KV to 2 x 25 KV on the Kharagpur-Bhadrak section under Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. The project, aimed at enhancing train speed to 160 km/h, will be completed in 16 months.

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has announced a significant contract for upgrading the electric traction system on the Kharagpur-Bhadrak section of the Kharagpur Division under South Eastern Railway. This project, under Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, aims to upgrade the traction system from 1 x 25 KV to 2 x 25 KV to support a 3,000 MT loading target.

The scope of the contract includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded electric traction system. The project will span over 16 months and is expected to enhance train speeds up to 160 km/h, contributing significantly to the efficiency and safety of rail operations in the region.
