A major milestone has been achieved by the Central Railway with the recent completion of the 33 km Amalner to Eiganwadi section of the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Baijnath new line project. The completion of this section represents a key advancement in the project’s broader goal of enhancing regional accessibility and fostering growth.

Central Railway in its continuous pursuit of providing rail connectivity to every corner of its Zonal boundaries has taken up several infrastructure works, the Amalner to Eiganwadi section (33 kms) of the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Baijnath new line project is now completed. The Commissioner for Railway Safety inspection and a successful speed trial at 120 kmph were conducted on 09.08.24.
Key Insights of the Project:
- This achievement includes building 10 major bridges (64 spans of 30.5 m), 8 ROBs, 14 RUBs, 42 minor bridges, with banks up to 30 metres high and cuttings up to 25 metres deep.
- With the completion of the 33 kms Amalner to Eiganwadi section, a total of 132.92 kms of the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Baijnath project is now complete.
- Work is ongoing on the remaining 128.33 kms of the project.
Background:
The Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli new railway line is one of the most significant infrastructure development projects, this vital railway link spans a length of 261.25 kms of which the section from Ahmednagar to Amalner, a distance of 100.18 kms have been completed and the next phase from Amalner to Eganwadi, a distance of 33.12 is also now completed.
The entire stretch from Ahmednagar to Wadvani, a distance of 200.15 kms is expected to be ready by 2024-25, while the balance part of Wadvani to Parli, a distance of 61.10 kms is expected to be ready by 2025-26. There are 23 stations along the route. The entire work till date has being executed in phases as follows:
- Ahmednagar-Narayandoh – 12.27 kms commissioned on 29.03.2017
- Narayandoh-Solapurwadi – 23.26 kms commissioned on 25.02.2019
- Solapurwadi-Ashti – 30.64 kms commissioned on 31.12.2021
- Ashti-Amalner – 33.92 kms commissioned on 05.01.2024
- Amalner-Eiganwadi – 33.12 kms commissioned on 09.08.2024
