Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to M/s. Linxon India Private for Design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, training and commissioning of RSS, ASS, SCADA, OHE & Switching Stations for CMRL Phase II-Corridor 3 (Sholinganallur to SIPCOT 2) & Corridor 5 (from CMBT to Sholinganallur).

- Name of Work: Design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, training and commissioning of RSS, ASS, SCADA, OHE & Switching Stations for CMRL Phase II-Corridor 3 (Sholinganallur to SIPCOT 2) & Corridor 5 (from CMBT to Sholinganallur).
- Accepted Contract Amount: Approx. INR 404.45 Crores
- Work Completion Period: 1150 Days
In October-2021, the CMRL invited a tender for Tender Number: CMRL/PHASE-II/SYS/C3&5-PS&OHE-10/2021
AACT:
- Minimum average annual construction turnover INR 306 Crores calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last 5 (five) years since 1st January 2016, divided by 5 (five) years.
Financial Resources:
- The Bidder must demonstrate that its financial resources defined in FIN-3, less its financial obligations for its current contract commitment defined in FIN-4, meet or exceed the total requirements for the subject contract of INR 78 Crores.
Contracts of Similar Size and Nature:
- Participation as a contractor or Joint Venture (JV) Partner, that have been successfully or substantially completed within the last 10 years (Starting from 1st January 2011) shall meet the following eligibility criteria:
A minimum number of:
- One contract of value INR. 403 Crores or above involving construction of: Power Supply & OHE Contracts in Metro / Railway Projects, or
- Two contracts of value each INR. 252 Crores or above involving construction of: Power Supply & OHE Contracts in Metro / Railway Projects, or
- Three contracts of value each INR. 202 Crores or above involving construction of: Power Supply & OHE Contracts in Metro / Railway Projects.
Experience in Key Activities:
- Contracts completed or under implementation as a contractor (single entity or JV Member) in the last 10 years starting 01st January 2011 in the successful completion of following key activities:
- FOCS work (25kV and above) of minimum 50km including design, erection, testing and commissioning including at least 1 set of SSP.
- 33kV and above substation and cable network with at least 5 substations with SCADA system; including design, erection, testing and commissioning.
- 110 kV work (66 kV and above) with at least one substation with SCADA system; including design, erection, testing and commissioning.
- SCADA for Traction or Power Supply System for Metro Rail System/ Suburban/ main line Railway Project; including design, erection, testing and commissioning.
About Chennai Metro Phase-2:
- Phase II expansion has been planned for a length of 118.9 Km network with 128 nos. Of Stations. It consists of three Corridors i.e. Corridor -3 – From Madhavaram to SIPCOT (45.8 Km), Corridor -4 – From Lighthouse to Poonamalle Bypass (26.1 Km), Corridor-5- From Madhavaram to Sholinganallur (47 Km).
- The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 63246/- Cr (Rupees Sixty three thousand two hundred and forty six only) (including IDC). The project is proposed to be completed by the end of 2026.
