Scope of Work:
- Contractor shall manufacture & supply 2,000 nos. (Two Thousand only) of Brake Blocks in compliance to CMRL technical requirements.
Technical Requirements:
- Composite Tread Brake Block suitable for CMRL Phase – I Rolling Stock.
- Brake Block should have been originally fitted and used in CMRL Phase – I Rolling Stock.

- Brake Block Should have been tested and found suitable for use in CMRL Phase – I Rolling Stock.
- Brake Block Part No : RBL/CB/158 (Or) Becorit K302.
Eligibility:
- Average Annual Turnover during the last 03(three) financial years shall be at least ₹38.82 Lakh (Indian Rupees Thirty Eight Lakh Eighty Two Thousand Only), calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress and/or completed within the last 3 years since 1st April 2019, divided by 03years.
- Net worth should be positive during the last 3 financial years.
Work Experience:
The bidder shall have experience in completion of similar works in Metro Rail Transportation system projects owned by Central/State Govt railway industries in India ,during last seven (07) years ending 31/07/2022 with minimum number of works as detailed below:
- Three similar completed works costing not less than Rs. 51.76 Lakh
OR
- Two Similar Completed works costing not less than Rs. 64.70 Lakh
OR
- One Similar completed work costing not less than Rs. 1.04 Cr.
Work Completion Certificates from the clients and Work Order copies. The bidder shall submit a copy of work completion certificates issued by the clients along with contract/work order copies. Similar Works means supply of brake block to Metro Rail Transportation system projects owned by Central/State Govt railway industries in India.

About CMRL:
- The Chennai Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture between Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, operates the Chennai Metro. It is the third longest metro system in India after Delhi Metro and Hyderabad metro.
- The Phase-I of Chennai Metro Rail project covers a length of 45.046 km network and consists of two corridors i.e. Corridor-I (Blue Line) – From Washermenpet to Airport (23.085 Km), Corridor -2(Green Line) – From Chennai Central to St. Thomas Mount (21.961 km).
- About 55% of the corridors in Phase-I are underground and the remaining elevated. Out of 32 nos of stations 13 nos are elevated stations and the remaining 19 nos are underground stations.
- Inter corridor interchange stations are available at Alandur (Elevated) station and Chennai Central (Underground) station respectively. The system commenced service in 2015 after partially opening the first phase of the project.
