Chennai Metro update: Tenders invited for construction of Underground Stations on Corridor-4 of Phase-2

In continuation to the tender for construction of 21 Metro stations on corridor 3 & 5, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (“the Employer”) has now invited tenders in two packages through e-procurement portal from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of the following work.

  1. Project No. and Title: IND 52234-002: Chennai Metro Rail Investment Project
    • E-Tender No: CMRL/CON/PHASE-II/C4-UG-01/2021
    • Name of the Work: “Construction of Underground Stations at Light House, Kutchery Road, Alwarpet, Bharathidasan Road Including Underground Stabling Yard and Cross Over at Light House Station and Associated Twin Tunnel, Project Start from Chainge 0+001m to End Chainage 5+150m (Down line)”.
    • Bid security: INR 28.16 Crores
    • Completion Period: 48 Months
  2. E-Tender No: CMRL/CON/PHASE-II/C4-UG-02/2021
    • Name of the Work: Construction of Under Underground Stations at Boatclub, Nandanam, Panagalpark, Kodambakkam, Kodambakkam Flyover including Underground Cross Over at Panagal Park Station and Associated Twin Tunnel, Cut & Cover Box, U Section and Ramp Project Start from Chainge 5+150m To End Chainage 10+027m (Down line)”.
    • Bid security: INR 31.12 Crores
    • Completion Period: 48 Months

Last date for seeking pre-bid clarifications: 10 April 2021 up to 18:00 Hrs.

  • India (hereinafter called “Borrower”) has applied for financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Chennai Metro Rail Investment Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract stated above. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.
  • Open Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB‟s SingleStage Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries as described in the bidding document.
