CMRS to conduct inspection of Bangalore Metro’s Phase 2 Green Line on 3rd & 4th October

The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (Southern Circle) will inspect the new section between Nagasandra (excluding) and Madavara (including) of the Bangalore Metro’s North-South Corridor on October 3rd and 4th, 2024. The Reach 3 extension is part of Phase 2 (Green Line) of the Bangalore Metro Rail project, introducing 750V DC traction.

Inspection Details:

The CMRS is set to conduct a statutory inspection on October 3rd and 4th, 2024, of the newly constructed section between Nagasandra Station (excluding) and Madavara Station (including). This section is part of the elevated Reach 3 extension of Phase 2 of the North-South corridor of the Bangalore Metro Rail project.

Section Specifications:

This segment of the North-South corridor spans from Ch: GN 6.620 at Nagasandra to ChGN 9.573 at Madavara, representing an important link in Bangalore’s growing metro network. The inspection focuses on the opening of a new standard gauge double line, which includes the introduction of 750V DC electric traction.

Corridor Overview:

The North-South Corridor, covering 30.32 km, extends from Nagasandra in the north to Silk Institute in the south. It is a part of Bangalore’s ambitious metro expansion and is notable for being India’s first metro rail project commissioned with 750V DC third rail traction on standard gauge tracks.
