Delhi Metro – Foot over Bridge (FoB) connecting the Samaypur Badli station with the Badli Railway station made operational

A Foot Over Bride (FOB) constructed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to connect the Samaypur Badli Metro station with the nearby Badli Railway station and the Samaypur village has now been opened for public movement.

The 88 metre long FOB connects the concourse of the Samaypur Badli Metro station on Yellow Line with the Platforms 1 and 2 of the Badli Railway station of Northern Railway. The FOB then connects both the Metro station and the railway station with the nearby Samaypur village.

The FOB is 6.1 metres wide and will be of immense benefit to the residents of Yadav Nagar and Shiv Vihar colonies of Samaypur, who will be able to use the facility to reach the Samaypur Badli Metro station as well as the Badli Railway station. Till now, they had to cross the railway tracks to reach the Metro station. Additionally , Delhi Metro also tweeted :

The FOB also has the provision for a lift towards colony side which will be made operational in due course of time. Indian Railway passengers using platform number-2 of the Badli Railway station can use the already existing lift of the Metro station to reach the concourse level.

A ticket counter has also been constructed in the Metro Station at concourse level to facilitate Indian Railway passengers. In addition, the approaching entry gate from main road towards platform no-2 and the green area around staircases have also been redeveloped by DMRC as per the requirements of Northern Railway.

Delhi Metro has always tried to provide FOB or underpass connectivity to the nearby areas of its Metro stations. Many of its Phase 3 stations were designed in such a way that the entry/ exit structures could also double up as FOBs or underpasses for passengers who just intended to cross the busy road.

Presently, a number of stations on Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, Noida, Ghaziabad and old Delhi have such facility.
