
Mr. Arnold Dix, President International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA) visited the Delhi Metro headquarters and had an interaction meeting with Dr. Mangu Singh, who is the President of the Tunneling Association of India (TAI), and a number of other top engineers who are engaged in tunnelling related activities from across the country.

- Professor Dix is one of the most distinguished luminaries in the field of tunnelling and underground space engineering. He has been a part of many international-level committees as well as organisations dealing with tunnel engineering.
- A range of issues regarding challenges in tunnelling as well as modern innovations were discussed during the meeting. Various tunnelling experts from both the private and the public sectors also participated in the interaction.
- ITA is an international non-governmental association promoting the use of tunnelling and underground space through knowledge sharing, technical advancements, and ethical practices.
- The Tunnelling Association of India also brings together tunnelling experts from across the country to discuss the subject and progress through knowledge sharing and deliberations. Senior office bearers of TAI were also present during the interaction.
- Dr. Mangu Singh, the former Managing Director of DMRC has been the President of the Tunnelling Association of India for many years. Because of his wide experience in this field, he is considered one of the authorities in this domain.
- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is currently constructing about 28 kilometres of new underground lines as part of its Phase-4 expansion. In phase 3 as well, over 50 kilometres of underground lines were laid with great success.
