DLI handled first consignment of Indian Railways Wagons at Anekal Freight Terminal

Distribution Logistics Infrastructure (DLI) last month handled its first consignment of Indian Railways Wagons in its Anekal, Bengaluru based Private Freight Terminal (PFT).

  • This was on the backdrop of domestic container train operations that DLI is already undertaking at Anekal in DLI owned wagons and trains.
  • The first rake, consisting of about 3500 tons of steel from Jindal Steel Works private siding at Vijayanagar works, arrived at PDLM on 21st February.
  • Post commencement of this movement, DLI has thus far successfully handled five steel rakes through its State of the Art handling equipment compared to primitive equipment used in steel handling.
  • The integrated logistics Park (ILP) inducted by DLI comprises full length Rail Siding to handle DLI’s own container wagons and Indian Railways Wagons, a covered warehouse and option to construct bespoke warehouses in future along with open stock yards.
  • 120 Acres logistics park already has a fully constructed facility for the proposed ICD which is expected to provide a major boost to the EXIM trade of Bangalore through much needed rail connectivity between Bengaluru and Chennai Ports.
  • ILP has ancillary facilities consisting of round the clock operations manned by two tier security, CCTV monitoring, truck parking area with driver rest rooms and canteen facilities, 100% power backup coupled with multi storeyed administrative building to house company offices and Indian Customs.
