Distribution Logistics Infrastructure (DLI) last month handled its first consignment of Indian Railways Wagons in its Anekal, Bengaluru based Private Freight Terminal (PFT).
- This was on the backdrop of domestic container train operations that DLI is already undertaking at Anekal in DLI owned wagons and trains.
- The first rake, consisting of about 3500 tons of steel from Jindal Steel Works private siding at Vijayanagar works, arrived at PDLM on 21st February.
- Post commencement of this movement, DLI has thus far successfully handled five steel rakes through its State of the Art handling equipment compared to primitive equipment used in steel handling.
- The integrated logistics Park (ILP) inducted by DLI comprises full length Rail Siding to handle DLI’s own container wagons and Indian Railways Wagons, a covered warehouse and option to construct bespoke warehouses in future along with open stock yards.
- 120 Acres logistics park already has a fully constructed facility for the proposed ICD which is expected to provide a major boost to the EXIM trade of Bangalore through much needed rail connectivity between Bengaluru and Chennai Ports.
- ILP has ancillary facilities consisting of round the clock operations manned by two tier security, CCTV monitoring, truck parking area with driver rest rooms and canteen facilities, 100% power backup coupled with multi storeyed administrative building to house company offices and Indian Customs.
