Scope of Work:
The project encompasses a wide range of construction activities, focusing on developing essential infrastructure and facilities for the new division. The key components of the project include:
DRM Office Main Building: Construction of a G+2 storied structure, with provisions for sewage and wastewater pipelines and a foundation suitable for future expansion up to G+4 floors.
Parking and Ancillary Facilities: Construction of a dedicated parking area for the DRM office and a drivers’ rest room adjacent to the parking place.
Residential Quarters and Buildings:
- Construction of DRM and ADRM bungalows.
- Type-V quarters for JAG/Branch officers (5 units, G+4).
- Additional Type-V quarters (5 units, G+4).
- Type-IV special quarters, temporarily serving as transit accommodation for other gazetted officers and senior supervisors (5 units, G+4).
Security and Waste Management:
- Erection of compound walls with adequate protection and security arrangements at the entry and exit of the quarters and RPF facilities.
- Waste disposal arrangements, including separate plumbing channels for sewage and wastewater.
- Construction of underground water storage tanks, effluent treatment and water recycling plants for sewage and sullage drainage systems, and underground septic tanks.
Community and Support Facilities:
- Construction of a marketplace, banks, and ATM facilities within the colony.
- Development of an officers’ rest house (ORH) with suites, a subordinate rest house, an officers’ club, and a 30-bed women’s hostel.
Infrastructure Development:
- Construction of roads throughout the offices, residential colonies, and other structures.
- Rainwater harvesting systems to promote sustainable water management.
- 56 staff quarters of various types (Type-II: 16 units, Type-III: 16 units, Type-IV: 8 units, and Type-IV Special: 16 units).
- Construction of RPF barracks and other related facilities.
Conclusion:
This comprehensive project aims to not only enhance the administrative capabilities of the East Coast Railway but also to provide better living conditions and facilities for its employees and support staff. By improving the infrastructure, ECoR is set to boost the operational efficiency of the new Rayagada Division and further integrate the Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling project into the broader railway network.
