G-RIDE invites tender for Engagement of Detailed Design Consultant for Ahmedabad-Rajkot Semi High-Speed Rail Project

The Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (G-RIDE) has invited online tender in single stage Two packet system for “Engagement of Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) for Civil, Architectural and E&M Works for the design of One elevated station (i.e., Sabarmati including Multimodal Integration Scheme), approx. 40 Km Elevated Viaduct (from Sabarmati 0 Km to Bavla 40 Km) and a stabling yard near Sabarmati for Ahmedabad-Rajkot Semi High -Speed Rail Project” in the state of Gujarat, India”.

About the project:

  • The detailed report on the semi high-speed rail project between Rajkot and Ahmedabad, a distance of around 230 kms, is being prepared by the Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (G-RIDE).
  • This high-speed rail project would be vital in reducing heavy traffic load on Rajkot-Ahmedabad road and cutting down the travel time.
  • Last year, RZD International, a special purpose engineering company of Russian Railways Holding (RZD), had expressed its interest in participating in the proposed semi-high speed railway project between Ahmedabad and Rajkot in Gujarat.
  • The company had in the past made DPRs for 580-km high speed rail between Nagpur and Secunderabad in India.
  • RZD International had entered into an MoU with the Ministry of Railways for modernisation of railways and the signaling system.

About G-RIDE:

For the development of Viable Railway Projects including projects with Viability Gap Funding, Government of Gujarat and Ministry of Railways have signed a Joint Venture Agreement on 17th August 2016 to form a JV Company which would develop railway projects by itself or through an SPV’s. Consequently, a JV Company namely Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (G-RIDE) has been incorporated under the provision of the Companies Act, 2013, on 6th January 2017 with equity contribution of 51% and 49% from Government of Gujarat(GOG) and Ministry of Railway(MOR) respectively.

G-RIDE has a mission to develop and augment critical Railway Development projects, enhance capacity of High-Density Network and provide last mile railway connectivity with main railway line of the State with high standards of safety and efficiency by adopting the best technological practices, sound financial strategy and optimum utilization of resources through implementing large capacity creation programs.
