IIT Roorkee Alumni Association Executive Committee Members Visit Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC)

A delegation of approximately thirty (30) IIT Roorkee Alumni Association Executive Committee Members from the Lucknow Chapter of the association today visited Lucknow Metro, one of the best Mass Rapid Transit Systems (MRTS) in the country. 

Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Lucknow Metro welcomed the delegation at the Transport Nagar Metro Depot and briefed them how a small team of technically competent and motivated engineers went on to create a history by accomplishing a dream into a reality in just three years.

“Engineers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee & from other top engineering colleges across the country are the brains behind the success of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project,” Shri Kumar Keshav said while interacting with the group.

It was a very nostalgic and proud moment for the Managing Director as he himself is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. Shri Kumar Keshav is a gold medalist civil engineering graduate of 1981 batch from this premiere technical institute of the Country.

At the Transport Nagar Metro Depot, the delegation was briefed about the technical features & characteristics of the Metro project. Afterwards, they visited the Workshop cum Inspection Bay Line, Depot Control Centre, Operation Control Centre (OCC) etc. and were told about the Metro system and the engineering par excellence facilities available at the Transport Nagar Metro Depot.

Later, all the executive committee members took a ride in a Metro train between Transport Nagar Metro Station and Charbagh Metro Station and expressed their happiness on this visit. They were very happy to see the world class facilities available at Transport Nagar Metro Depot, Metro stations and inside the Metro Train and lauded Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director and his team for providing the Best Metro Rail Project of the Country to Lucknow.
