Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officers Visit Lucknow Metro On An Educational Training Trip

A group of four (04) Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers of the 2017 batch from Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Government of India today visited Lucknow Metro, one of the most prestigious project of the Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh on their educational training trip.

All these coveted officers – who are presently undergoing a mid-career training programme – visited the fastest ever Metro Rail Project implemented in the country. They got to know the management strategies of Lucknow Metro which has established benchmarks in modern Metro technology, implementation, punctuality, discipline, and cleanliness and has ushered a revolution in bringing Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) in Uttar Pradesh.

They arrived at the Transport Nagar Metro depot at 2.30 PM where they were briefed about the technical features & characteristics of the Metro project. They also visited the Workshop cum Inspection Bay Line, Depot Control Centre, Operation Control Centre (OCC) etc. and were told about the Metro system and the engineering par excellence facilities available at the Transport Nagar Metro Depot.

Afterwards, the officers took a ride in a Metro train from Transport Nagar Metro Station to Charbagh Metro Station and expressed their happiness on this visit. They were very happy to see the world class state-of-the-art facilities available at Transport Nagar Metro depot, Metro stations and inside the Metro Train.

Later, they also visited Lucknow Metro’s Administrative Building, Vipin Khand, Gomti Nagar where they interacted with Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, LMRC. They asked many questions related to Metro technology and its challenges.  “Lucknow Metro today is a case study subject in various technical & non-technical institutions across the Country and the Globe. We are proud that we have achieved this successfully in record time,” the Managing Director said during the interaction.
