JSPL bags Rs 50 crore contract to supply 12,000 tonnes of rail blooms to France

JSPL (Jindal Steel and Power Limited) said it has bagged a contract to supply 12,000 tonnes of special grade rail blooms to France Rail Hayange. Mr. V R Sharma, Managing Director, JSPL said,”With this, JSPL has come to be acknowledged as one of the regular suppliers to France Railways. Similarly, Britain and Australia have expressed interest and they are expected to place orders as well.”

  • The 12,000-tonnes special grade rail blooms export order to France is valued at around Rs 50 crore, he added.
  • JSPL is the only private-sector company to manufacture head-hardened rails.
  • Recently, the company bagged a 2,308 tonne supply order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for development of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation.
  • Mr. Sharma said,”JSPL believes in innovation and is undertaking multiple experiments successfully in the rail sector.”
  • Also, JSPL has started the production of 1,080 head-hardened heat-treated grade rails.
  • A part of the 22 billion dollar O P Jindal Group, JSPL is an industrial powerhouse with an active presence in steel, power, mining and infrastructure sectors.
