K-RIDE invites bids for Railway Electrification works for Yeshwanthpur-Baiyyappanahalli and Baiyyappanahalli-Hosur Doubling Projects

In continuation to the tender for Consultancy services to Assess Market Value of Land proposed to be acquired for Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, the Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE), has now invited bids under single stage two packet system for the work of Railway Electrification of Yeshwanthpur-Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A and Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A – Hosur: Doubling Projects (including station yards) of Bangalore Division in Three (3) Packages” (Multiple Packages).

Package-1: 

  • Name of work: Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 25 KV, AC, 50 Hz, Single Phase, Traction Over Head Equipment for Railway Electrification of Yeshwanthpur(226 km) (Including) – Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A (205.5 km) (Including) Section (30 Track Kilometer approximately) of Bangalore division of South Western Railway. 
  • Estimated Cost of Project: INR 10,62,27,867
  • Period of Completion: 30 Months

Work details:

  • The tendered work is part of the doubling project for Railway Electrification between Yeshwanthpur and Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A station of South Western Railway. 
  • The works are located on the alignment between Yeshwanthpur – Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A. 
  • This work on the full stretch of 30 TKM between Yeshwanthpur (including) and Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A (including) can be started immediately as the track work in progress for laying parallel to existing running track as provision of Doubling Line

Package-2: 

  • Name of work: Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 25 KV, AC, 50 Hz, Single Phase, Traction Over Head Equipment for Railway Electrification of Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A (205.5km) (Excluding) – Heelalige (180 km) (Including) Section (28 Track Kilometer approximately) of Bangalore division of South Western Railway.
  • Estimated Cost of Project: INR 9,79,74,424 
  • Period of Completion: 24 Months

Work details:

  • The tendered work is part of the doubling project for Railway Electrification between Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A and Heelalige station of South Western Railway. 
  • The works are located on the alignment between Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A – Heelalige.. 
  • This work on the full stretch of 28 TKM between Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A (Excluding) and Heelalige (including) can be started immediately as the track work in progress for laying parallel to existing running track as provision of Doubling Line. 

Package-3: 

  • Name of work: Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 25 KV, AC, 50 Hz, Single Phase, Traction Over Head Equipment for Railway Electrification of Heelalige (180km) (Excluding) – Hosur(159 km) (Including) Section (25 Track Kilometer approximately) of Bangalore division of South Western Railway.
  • Estimated Cost of Project: INR 8,72,94,401 
  • Period of Completion: 30 Months

Work details:

  • The tendered work is part of the doubling project for Railway Electrification between Heelalige and Hosur station of South Western Railway. 
  • The works are located on the alignment between Heelalige – Hosur. 
  • This work on the full stretch of 25 TKM between Heelalige (Excluding) and Hosur (Including) can be started immediately as the track work in progress for laying parallel to existing running track as provision of Doubling Line. 

 Scope of Present Tender:

The proposed work is in connection with Railway Electrification of proposed line between Yeshwanthpur – Baiyappanahalli Cabin A, Baiyappanahalli Cabin A – Heelalige & Heelalige – Hosur as provision of Doubling. 

  • The proposed Railway Electrification will connect railway stations viz. Yeshwanthpur, Lottegollahalli, Hebbal, Banaswadi, Baiyyappanahalli Cabin A,Belandur,Karmelaram,Heelalige, Anekal Road, Maranayakanahalli & Hosur .  
  • Entire section is mostly plain and maximum ruling gradient is 1 in 100 compensated. This project site lies in the state of Karnataka. 
  • The section falls in the basic wind speed of 33 and 39 m/s classification given in IS 875-1987. Accordingly, the basic wind pressure of 73 and 105 kgf/m2 respectively is to be adopted. Increased wind pressure is also to be adopted on embankments more than 100 meters i.e 150 kgf/m2. This conforms to the wind pressure adopted by State Electricity Boards for the design of their EHT transmission lines.
  • Electric Locomotives with chimney height not exceeding 4.232m (WAP with their pantographs in the locked down position) and diesel Locomotives with height of 4.42 (14 ft. 6 inch) would run on this section.
