Kochi Metro Update: Tender invited for development of Non-Motorised Transport from Manorama junction to SN junction

Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has invited online bids (e-Tender) under two packet systems from eligible applicants, for Development/Improvement of Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) initiatives of Kochi metro rail ltd. Package-B (Civil Works) Manorama junction to SN junction.

Scope of Work:

  • The Key features include design and developments of Junctions (for Improvements), Revamping of Existing Drain/Construction of New Drains, Construction of Footpaths with Natural Granite Stone, Glass tiles paving, Manholes Covers, Gully Traps, Kerbs, Bollards, Tree Gratings, Tree Planting, Kiosks, Street Furniture, Dust Bins, Landscaping, etc.
    • RCC Concrete Works – 3252 Cum
    • Steel Reinforcement Works – 195552 Kg.
    • Structural Steel Works – 30226 Kg.
    • Natural Granite Stone Paving – 30221 sqm
    • Manhole Covers – 2714 Nos.
    • Bollards – 580 Nos.
    • Tree Planting – 409 Nos. or More
    • Kiosks – 10 Nos.
    • Street Furniture – Stainless Steel Seating – 55 Nos.
    • Street Furniture – Dustbins – 20 Nos.
  • The Scope of works describe the reports and documents to be submitted by the contractor, as well as the frequency of submission, number of copies and requirements to electronic submission (or CD-ROMs).
  • The reports can include but not limited to:
    • Surveys or study reports & investigation reports
    • Design reports/calculations
    • Construction method statements
    • Construction sequence and Supervision manual
    • Operation and Maintenance manual /Quarterly Maintenance report
    • Special reports / Engineering reports
    • Contractor’s Quality and Safety reports
  • The Contractor shall submit for approval by the Employer a detailed programme for completion of each of the activities for which the contractor is responsible. The programme shall be prepared with a 2 weeks Look Ahead programme and is to be updated continuously.

Eligibility:

  • No Joint Venture (JV)/Consortium is permitted for this Contract Financial Capabilities
  • Minimum average net worth for last three Financial years > 8.15 Cr.
  • Minimum average liquidity for the last three financial years > 5.82 Cr.
  • Minimum average annual turnover of Rs.40.73 crores for last three (03) financial
  • years ending in March 2021
  • Profitability: PBT shall be positive in any 2 years of the last 5 Financial Years.
  • Bid Capacity: The tenderers will be qualified only if their available bid capacity is more than the approximate cost of work as per NIT.

Specific Construction & Contract Management Experience:

  • Experience in successfully (substantially) completing at least one contract of similar works of at least 21.72 Cr. within the original/actual completion period during the last Seven years ending July 2022. OR
  • Experience in successfully (substantially) completing at least two contracts of similar works of at least 13.58 Cr. within the original/actual completion period during the last Seven years ending July 2022. OR
  • Experience in successfully (substantially) completing at least three contracts of similar works of at least 10.86 Cr. within the original/actual completion period during the last Seven years ending July 2022.
  • Similar works means, General Civil Works/Construction of Urban Roads/Construction Drain & Footpath/ Junction improvements/Urban place making.

Notes:

  • Details and drawings given in the document are conceptual and for information purposes only. The successful bidder shall undertake confirmatory surveys for accuracy and completeness of data. It is in scope of successful Bidder to undertake Site surveys as per requirements, Engineering Surveys, Underground Utility Surveying of the site for shifting and creating new, obtaining all required approvals from the relevant authorities.
  • The successful bidder shall have to prepare and submit 1 set of ‘Good for Construction Drawings’ at least 1 week before start of construction work. And also submit 1 set of ‘As Built Drawings’ after execution, depicting the exact construction carried out on site, in soft and hard copy format.
  • The performance of the Works shall comply with the specific core requirements contained in this Employer’s Requirements.
  • The Works shall be developed in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements, the Technical Specifications and the other requirements of the Contract.
  • The Works shall be constructed to the highest standards available using proven up-to-date good Engineering practices. The Specification shall in any case not specify standards which, in the Engineer’s opinion, are less than or inferior to those described in the Technical/ Construction Specifications contained in the Tender Documents. Construction shall be carried out employing the procedures established by the Contractor in his Quality, Safety Health and Environmental management plans.
  • The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary approvals from the relevant Public/Government/Local/Statutory bodies or any other agencies in connection with the design and construction of the works.
  • The Contractor has to conduct the detailed topography survey and submit a conceptual drawing for the footpath, the drainage flow diagram of existing as well as proposed drain coming under the footpath.
  • The drawings shall also include the proposal of providing appropriate signages, street furniture, kiosks, Vehicle access Ramps, table top crossings, etc. The survey work and submission of drawings need to be completed and submitted to the employer within 15 days of commencement of works.
  • The Construction Phase shall include the execution of the works as per the approved designs, including proper documentation and submission of deliverables as per the approved timelines.
