The Committee chaired by the Padmashree awardee and Eminent Architect Shri. G Shankar selected the winners for the architectural design competition conducted by Kochi Metro Rail Limited for the upcoming ferry terminals of Kochi Water Metro project at Fort Kochi and Vyttila.

The design by Studio Homosapiens, an architectural firm from Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam, comprising Vinaya Das. V (Team Leader), Dhanesh T.S, Roopa Mathew and Abhilash V S has been selected as the winning entry for the terminal in Fort Kochi and a team comprising Rajiv Babu and Ameena Hamza from Chalakudy won the prize for the best design for Vyttila Terminal. Dayal Paul Sebastien, Kakkanad, Ernakulam and Ajay Sethi of PSP Design, Chennai got the second prizes for Fort Kochi and Vyttila respectively.

Out of total submissions of 33 designs for Vytilla and 31 for Fort Kochi, 6 and 5 entries were shortlisted respectively by the screening committee and the shortlisted participants were requested to present their entries in front of the selection committee chaired by Shri. G.Shankar.

Apart from Shri. Shankar, the selection committee also had Shri. Thiruman Archunan (Director projects, KMRL), Shri. Bijimon Punnose, General Manager (Water Transport), Smt. Rekha Prakash, General Manager (Planning & Design) and two other senior officials of KMRL.

The 1st prize winner will get a prize money worth Rs.50000/- whereas the Runner-up will get Rs.25000/-. All the short listed designs would also get a consolation prize of Rs. 5000/- each.
