Kolkata Metro Update: Construction work of Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro project going on in full swing

The construction work of Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro project has been going on in full swing. In the first phase of 7 km stretch, construction work of viaduct, Jessore Road station, approach tunnel to Bimanbandar station and Bimanbandar Yard have been going on.

More details:

  • The casting work of last base slab in the stretch from approach tunnel to Bimanbandar station to Yard has been completed. Firm determination, persistent efforts and meticulous planning of Metro engineers have made it possible to achieve this great milestone.

  • A total of 641 metre (323 metre Bimanbandar station area and 318 metre approach tunnel) base slab of Bimanbandar station and approach tunnel has been completed successfully maintaining all safety measures and quality of works.

  • With this, casting of 22238 sqm of base slab has been completed. 29250 cubic metre concrete and 9495 MT steel have been consumed to cast this entire stretch. On 30th May, 2022 work, 48 workers and 15 engineers worked in tandem to complete this work in two shifts.
