From this Sunday (i.e. 8th April, 2018), Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) shall again be undertaking a three day “special drive” at all the eight operational Metro stations between the Transport Nagar and the Charbagh to encourage the usage of the automatic Token Vending Machine (TVM) and the Recharge Card Terminal Machine (RCTM) for the Metro commuters.
During this drive from 8th April, 2018 to 10th April, 2018, the Ticket Operating Machines (TOMs) meant for manual sale of tokens/smart cards at all Metro stations shall be closed to promote the usage of the automatic Recharge Card Terminal Machine (RCTM) and the automatic Token Vending Machine (TVM).
Passengers can buy the token and recharge their ‘GoSmart’ travel cards through the automatic Recharge Card Terminal Machine (RCTM) and the automatic Token Vending Machine (TVM) installed at all Metro stations only during this period. The Metro staff and the Customer Relation Assistant (CRA) will be present at the RCTM/TVM at all Metro stations to assist the passengers in getting token and recharge ‘GoSmart’ from the machines.
LMRC had started this drive in February this year and this is the second drive in its continuation. Lucknow Metro shall be undertaking such more drives in future also and is determined to educate and aware the masses for using the latest technology for their convenience so that a ‘smarter’ way of Metro travel inculcates a ‘smarter’ behaviour in Metro passengers also as regards their token purchase or smart card recharge in the Metro system.
It is primarily aimed at inculcating a habit among Metro commuters for using the automatic services for a smarter way so that they can save their time. This kind of drive will also help to reduce manual operations and encourage the people for automatic ticketing at Metro stations.
