MAHSR update: IRCON initiates tender for high speed standard gauge track work

IRCON International Limited, a leading infrastructure development company, has initiated a tender for high speed standard gauge ballastless railway track work for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor.

Brief about Tender Submission:

Name of the Work: Design, fabrication, supply, transportation and delivery of 1 in 9 (RHS) Crossovers of 52 Kg (SH Serviceable Rails) for temporary works for standard gauge with all fittings at the locations of Track Construction Base (TCB 5 & TCB 6) in connection with construction of High Speed Standard Gauge Double Line Ballast less Railway Track between Zaroli Village at Maharashtra-Gujarat Border (MAHSR Km. 156.600) and Vadodara (MAHSR Km. 393.700) in the State of Gujarat and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (Package-MAHSR-T2) under NHSRCL.

Scope of Works:

Switch Rails: (Suppliers Scope) Switches made from asymmetrical (2nd hand serviceable quality) 52 Kg Rail section shall be machined carefully to achieve the profile at different locations. Machining shall be done by CNC milling machine to achieve correct profile and excellence in the final product. The tongue rail shall be one piece with no joint within the length of tongue rail.

  • Stock Rails: UIC 52 KG Rails (2 nd hand serviceable quality)
  • Axle load : 19 MT
  • Design Speed : 10 kmph
  • Track Gauge: Standard (1435 mm)

Each Crossing set shall consist of 4 stock rails (LH & RH), 4 tongue rails (LH & RH) (all Rails 2nd hand serviceable quality) along with minimum of following fittings:

  • Spacers Plates shall be made up of MS Flats size 150mm wide x 20mm thick spacing @ 0.65m c/c
  • ERC, liner, shoulder – Shall be 630 to 650 Sets
  • Slide Chair Lugs-28 Nos
  • 52 Kg Fish Plates-32 Nos
  • Combination Fish Plate with Clamping arrangement (JIS 60 Kg to 52 Kg Rails)-08 Nos
  • Bolts, CI Blocks with Design Stops -08 Nos
  • Lever Box Sets-02
  • Stretcher Bar Sets-02
  • Fabricated Crossings-02 Sets
  • Check rail with Fittings-02 Sets
  • All the above Fittings shall be New

The switch shall provide suitable flange way clearance, between the stock rail and switch rail at the end of head in open position. In the cleared position, the switch rail shall house properly against the stock rail and shall bear evenly against all the distance blocks and slide base plates. The turnout system shall prevent the switch lifting.

Fabricated Crossings: All the crossings shall be Fabricated crossings. Check rails in all turnouts shall have the facility of adjustment in order to increase the nominal clearance up to 10 mm. Check rail shall be 20 mm higher than the rail level. The end of each check rail shall be suitably flared by machining.

Prior to dispatch of the Crossover, at least one Set shall be manufactured and completely pre- assembled for inspection and Certification by IRCON Engineer. Once the sample crossover is accepted by IRCON Engineers, balanced production can commence. Consent of IRCON Engineer of the sample Crossover shall not relieve the supplier of its responsibility to produce the entire lot of crossovers in full conformity with the approved designs and drawings.

Conclusion:

The development marks the commitment of IRCON for providing quality rail tracks and will lead to speeding up of the work on the much awaited Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor.
