In a significant step towards improving urban mobility in the Mumbai region, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has awarded a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to TPF Engineering Pvt. Ltd. The contract entails providing Project Management Consultancy services for constructing missing links in the flyovers along the Mumbai Metro Line-6 project.

The Contract Period is: 30 Months
The Awarded Value of the Tender is: Rs. 8,00,28,000/-
Introduction:
Metro Line 6 of the Mumbai Metro is part of the metro system for the city of Mumbai, India. It is to connect Swami Samarth Nagar-Lokhandwala in Andheri in the western suburbs to Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg in the eastern suburbs. Major section of the line will run through the Jogeshwari–Vikhroli Link Road which is going to be fully elevated. It is being constructed through the MoU between DMRC and MMRDA.
- Along the alignment of Metro Line-6, MCGM has also proposed a flyover from New Link Road to Poonam Nagar, Mahakali (JVLR).
- Out of which, MCGM has already constructed Flyover from SV Road to Laxmi Nagar, Jogeshwari (E), which is named as Balasaheb Thackeray Flyover.
- Considering interdependency of design and construction sequence of Metro and flyover structures, MCGM entrusted MMRDA to construct balance work of Flyover.
- Overlapping portion of flyover and Metro is being constructed by DMRC in collaboration with MCGM as a double decker flyover (flyover on first level and metro viaduct on second level).
- It has therefore necessitated constructing missing links between the existing bridge constructed by BMC and the double decker bridge being constructed by DMRC.
Hence, It is proposed to Design and Construction of Missing links (remaining work) of Flyover at New Link Road, Andheri (W) (Solid Ramp and Flyover), Veera Desai Road, Jogeshwari (W) (Solid Ramp and Structural Ramp), Millat School (Flyover), Western Express Highway (WEH) & Metro Line-7 crossing (Flyover and Cable Stay Bridge) and Poonam Nagar, Mahakali, JVLR (Solid Ramp).
Scope of Works:
Providing Project Management Consultancy Services during construction period and DLP of the “Design and Construction work of Flyover (Missing Links) from New Link Road, Andheri (W) to Poonam Nagar, Mahakali (JVLR)” .i.e. technical supervision, monitoring quality assurance, contract management and other allied services including supervision of geotechnical investigations, detailed scrutiny of designs and issuing working drawings submitted by the Contractor for the Elevated Bridge, Cable Stayed Bridge over WEH & ML-7 & approaches, foundation and substructure, superstructure, reinstatement of SWD and Footpath damaged during construction, implementation of Traffic improvement plans, Utility investigation & Utility Diversion plan & implementation of Preparation & implementation of Quality Assurance Plan, Preparation & implementation of Safety Plan, Implementation of Environment Monitoring plan, Preparation of traffic diversion plan & approval from competent traffic authority.
- Permissions from MCGM tree Authority for tree cutting & compliance of condition, preparation & follow up of Resettlement & Rehabilitation proposal for the project etc.
- Monitoring all testing activities and any other activity in accordance to the specifications connected with the construction and completion of the project.
- All works and Liaising related to permission from any statutory body Periodical reporting preparation/checking of bills, dispute/claims resolution etc.
Construction of Flyovers & Structural Ramp with Length:
- Flyover at New Link Road, Andheri (W) , Length = 102.5 m
- Structural Ramp at Veera Desai Road, Length = 160 m
- Flyover at Millat School, Length = 125 m
- Flyover at WEH (West side), Length = 190 m
- Flyover at WEH (East side), Length = 210 m
- Construction of Cable Stayed Bridge crossing over WEH & Metro Line-7, Length = 220 m
Construction of three Solid Ramps with Length:
- Solid Ramp at New Link Road, Length = 150 m
- Solid Ramp at Veera Desai Road, Length = 190 m
- Solid Ramp at Poonam Nagar, Mahakali (JVLR), Length = 230 m
