Mumbai Metro Line 9 Update: 65% work of 3-Tier station completed

Medetia Nagar Metro Station of Metro line-9 is having 3 tiers in which 1st tier is flyover for vehicles, concourse level is on the 2nd tier and Platform Level is on 3rd tier.

More Details:

  • The total height of this station is 35 metres from road level. This station is 65 % completed, also all cast in situ elements with all piers up to platform level completed now pier cap erection work is in full swing.
  • All stations work in this alignment is 51% completed. MMRDA constructed 10.58 km Mumbai metro line 9 consisting 8 stations connecting Mumbai Suburbs to Mira-Bhayandar city. This line will be having two interchange metro stations along metro alignment.
  • First interchange station is at Dahisar (E) with interchange for Metro Line 7 (Gundavali to Dahisar (E) and Metro Line 2A (Andheri (W) to Dahisar (E) & the second interchange is at Miragaon metro station with line 10 (Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk).

Shri S.V.R. Srinivas IAS, Hon Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, said “Integration with different transport systems in Mumbai is challenging as Mumbai never sleeps. Metro Line 9 will be the finest example of integrated transport System of MMR. After the completion of Metro projects the pattern of Travel in MMR will be much more robust, connected & sustainable”.

About Metro Line-9:

  • Metro Line 9 is an extension of Line 7 from Andheri to CSIA and Dahisar to Mira Bhayander and is 13.581 km long (11.386 km elevated and 2.195km underground) with 10 stations.
  • It shall provide interconnectivity among the existing Western Express Highway, Western Railway, ongoing Metro Line 2A (Dahisar to D N Nagar) and Metro Line 7 (Andheri (E) to Dahisar (E).
  • It shall provide rail based access to the commercial, Govt. bodies and geographical landmarks in Mumbai.
  • A Maintenance Depot has been proposed at Mira-Bhayander (main depot for the entire line-7). Total land area proposed for maintenance facilities is 20.0 Ha.
  • It shall reduce the current travel time by anything between 50% and 75% depending on road conditions.
