Benefits of MUTP Phase II:
- Segregation of suburban train operations from the main line passenger & freight services.
- 12/15 car trains running on the suburban lines.
- Provision of additional 864 New Coaches – Increase of 30% capacity over & above MUTP Phase I.
- Bringing down the passenger per 12 coach train to 4000 as against existing 6000
- Conversion of 1500 V DC to 25 kV ACTraction on Central Railway.
