NCRTC Conducts ‘Vendor Meet’ With Prospective Construction Partners

NCRTC has conducted a meet ‘CONSULTATION WITH PROSPECTIVE CONSTRUCTION PARTNERS’ on 7th December 2017 in Delhi. The meet was attended by representatives from number of Infrastructure firms like L&T, AFCONS, IRCON, IL&FS, TATA PROJECTS, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, HCC, ITD, GPT Infra Projects Ltd, SAM India, Ranjit Buildcon etc.

Industry leaders appreciated this initiative of NCRTC and raised several pertinent issues concerning execution of such large infrastructure projects. NCRTC officials assure the gathering that they will take every possible step for effective implementation of the project. It was conveyed that the very purpose of conducting this meet is to make the Construction partners aware about the NCRTC’s RRTS Project, especially the Delhi-Meerut Smart Line and to understand their requirements in providing their services to accomplish this esteemed project. A fruitful interactive session with the industry partners was conducted after presentations on the entire RRTS corridor and on Delhi-Meerut Corridor.

Addressing on the occasion, Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, NCRTC elaborated that how NCRTC is going to accomplish the Government’s vision of improving the way NCR travels. He informed that this is the first of its kind project in India which will be connecting NCR with high speed trains (average speed-100kmph) coupled with high frequency (5 minutes) by using IT enabled state of the art technology. He invited infrastructure firms to join hands with NCRTC in its endeavor to execute this project in an efficient way. While responding to various queries of the Construction partners, he emphasized that NCRTC and their prospective Construction partners should be on the same page for effective execution of the project. He further stated that these exercises are being done by NCRTC for efficient Contract management both in planning and execution.

National Capital Region Transport Corporation, a Joint Venture of Government of India and State Governments of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi, is mandated to design, construct, operate & maintain rail based Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in the National Capital Region. Three RRTS corridors: Delhi-Meerut Smart Line, Delhi – Panipat Smart Line and Delhi – Alwar Smart Line have been prioritised for implementation in first phase. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor will be the first corridor to be implemented for which pre-construction activities including geo-technical investigations, detailed design, utility shifting planning and traffic diversion planning have already started.
