North East Frontier Railway registers over 54% growth in freight loading in February 2022

Northeast Frontier Railway has been continuously registering growth in freight loading. N. F. Railway loaded 0.961 MT during February, 2022. 

  • This is an increase of 54.3% in comparison to the corresponding period of last year. N. F. Railway loaded 9.183 MT during the period from April, 2021 to February, 2022 as compared to 6.932 MT done in corresponding period of last year. This is an increase of 32.5%.
  • During February, 2022, coal loading was increased by 2420% while loading of few other commodities were also increased by a good margin in N. F. Railway in comparison to last year. 
  • During the month, dolomite loading increased by 221.4%, food grains loading increased by 116.7%, POL loading increased by 4.3%, container loading increased by 14.3% and loading of miscellaneous commodities increased by 38.6%.
  • During this year from April, 2021 to February, 2022, coal loading increased by 34.7%, dolomite loading increased by 180.7% in comparison to the same period of last year. 
  • Food grains loading increased by 9.4%, fertiliser loading increased by 16.4%, container loading increased by 65%, other commodities increased by 90.8%; and it is an overall increase of 32.5% in comparison to the last years loading up to February, 2021.
  • Freight transportation by rail is safer and quicker than roadways and is the most environment friendly mode available for customers. N. F. Railway has been exploring all possible ways to boost the freight loading performance. 
  • The sustained efforts of Business Development Units (BDUs) at Headquarters and Divisional levels have helped capture new traffic and to boost in freight loading.
