Patna Metro Update: Shri Daljeet Singh, Director (Works), DMRC inspects Casting Yard at LCT Ghat

Shri Daljeet Singh, Director (Works), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) inspected the Casting Yard at LCT Ghat. Shri Singh reviewed various activities being carried out at Casting yard for elevated and underground works for Patna Metro Project.

More Details:

  • During his inspections, he expressed his concern over the rise in temperature. He instructed the officials to ensure all measures to be taken on account of increase in the temperature which will badly affect the quality of the concrete.
  • Measures to be taken to prevent any damage to the ongoing constructions work from the scorching heat. He instructed us to install sprinklers, chiller plants and shed for materials stored in the bin.

  • Proper curing should be done of the concrete and precast structures at the yard to keep the concrete and structures hydrated.
  • Shri Singh also instructed the officials to ensure all measures to safeguard the wellbeing of workers. Necessary arrangements like proper shades, resting area and drinking water facility must be provided to the workers at all the construction sites including Casting yard.

  • Besides reviewing the progress work at the yard and progress work of the underground station at Gandhi Maidan, Shri Singh also reviewed the pre- monsoons preparatory measures being taken by the contractors at the sites.
  • His major concern was the rise in the ground water level. He instructed the Senior officials of DMRC to start undertaking monsoon preparatory works and measures across the Patna Metro Construction sites and casting yards so that water logging is not there at any point on account of ongoing construction activities.
