Collaboration between industry and academia is key to catalyse innovation and growth in technology. While industry frequently focuses on solutions with immediate commercial value and academia on developing new knowledge through research and education, the two can work together to speed the development of new discoveries.
Keeping this thought process in mind AKGEC Skill Foundation, a joint initiative of Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College Ghaziabad and National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India has collaborated with world-wide technology leaders to create an ecosystem for conducting training, research and consultancy in emerging domains of Industrial Automation, Robotics, Advance Manufacturing, Fabrication and Automotive technology.
Various Centres of Excellence (COE’s) has thus been established under the above initiative which are equipped with state of art training, prototyping testing & measurement, manufacturing & fabrication facilities including CNC / Robotic Machining, Manual / Robotic Welding, Thermal/ Plasma / Laser Cutting, Destructive / Non-Destructive Testing, Measurement / Metrology, Industrial Pneumatic / Hydraulics / PLC’s / Drives, Mechatronics, 3D Printing etc.
These facilities are operational with active support from eminent Industry partners including SIEMENS, BOSCH Rexroth, National Instruments, KUKA Robotics, Mitsubishi Electric, Fronius, Schmalz, CARL Zeiss, Messer Cutting, IPG Photonics, Pepprl+Fuchs & Bosch Ltd. to meet the growing industry demand of skilled manpower and technical services in the said domains.
The COEs are outfitted with the most recent equipment and technology to encourage engineers and the industry at large to use current production techniques.
These facilities not only offer participants training that is relevant to the industry, but they also provide consulting and industrial services to various Government organisations such as Indian Railways-MCF Rae Bareli, Defence Research & Development Organization (INMAS), Indian Air Force – Base Repair Depot etc and also to General Engineering Product Manufacturing industry in Delhi-NCR, through their qualified, experienced, and highly talented staff.
