Pune Metro Update: Maha Metro to conducts Survey for Extension of Metro Lines in Pune

Maha Metro is preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for extensions of its existing 33.1 km metro lines (Phase 1). The phase 2 corridors would be a total of approximately 82.5 km encompassing Vanaz to Chandani Chowk (1.5 km).

  • Hadapsar to Kharadi(5 km).
  • Swargate toHadapsar (7km).
  • Khadakwasla to Swargate (13 km).
  • SNDT to Warje (8km).
  • HCMTR in PMC (PMC, 36km).
  • After preparation of the report, it will be submitted to the authorities for necessary approvals.
  • To facilitate the study, Maha Metro is conducting surveys across Pune & Pimpri Chinchwad to know the public transport opinion & stated preference of its citizens for ridership estimation. 
  • This includes door-to-door surveys across various households, residential societies, offices, commercial establishments, big and small businesses, schools, colleges, etc. Maha Metro has prepared a questionnaire that shall be shared with the citizens during the survey.
  • This survey is being carried out through UMTC Ltd. & Data Corp Traffic Pvt Ltd which is affiliated with Maha Metro.
  • This questionnaire includes frequency and modes of travel by the citizens, the overall opinion about the Public Transport in Pune/Pimpri Chinchwad are just a few to mention.
  • Hence, they appeal all the citizens of Pune tobe utmost cooperative and collaborative during the survey process as it will only take a few minutes of your time and help us immensely.
  • Phase 1 of the Pune Metro Rail Project is nearing completion, and soon a few sections will be opened for public use.
  • With the extension of new corridors, Maha Metro aims to connect Pune from East to West & North to South, thus, providing its citizens a safe, comfortable and timely travel in the city.
