Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala gets a new General Manager: Shri Manjul Mathur takes charge

Shri Manjul Mathur has taken over as General Manager of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. He is from the 1988 batch of Indian Railway Service of Engineers and has studied B.E. (Civil Engineering) from Jodhpur University, Rajasthan, Bridge and Earthquake Engineering from IIT (Mumbai) and has an impressive experience working on some of the key infrastructural projects.

Shri Manjul Mathur, before taking over as General Manager of RCF, was working as Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) at North Central Railway, Prayagraj. Prior to that, he has also worked as Chief Bridge Engineer in Western Railway Mumbai. He has also served as Deputy Chief Engineer at Raichur, Nanded and other places and as Chief General Engineer in South Central Railway and Group General Manager in Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor Project.

During his tenure as CBE/Western Railway Safety audit of 105 overhead structure and their rehabilitation was carried out o­n complex density loaded and intensively inhabited network of Mumbai suburbs. He has undergone training at INSEAD/Singapore, ICIF/Malaysia and various renowned institutes in France and Spain.

Experience: 

  • He has over 36 years of experience in the field of construction, maintenance and operation of rail networks.
  • He has lead and implemented several key infrastructure projects for the Indian Railways and also handled various facets of construction across planning, engineering design, land acquisition, financial structuring, monitoring and implementation of contracting work etc. with Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFCCIL), a PSU affiliated with the Indian Railways.
  • He has also worked closely with the World Bank for 7 years while leading teams of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor project.
  • During his tenure with DFCCIL, a 200 km section between Khurja and Bhadan stations of Kanpur-Khurja section was completed and Asia’s second largest Operation Control Centre was built in Allahabad.
  • During his 1.5 year stay at North Central Railway 275 km of infrastructure was commissioned.

With his deep and diverse experience working on some of the key railway projects, Shri Manjul Mathur is sure to take Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala to new heights and set new benchmarks in the production of quality railway coaches.
