RailTel Corporation of India has invited tenders for Supply Installation and Commissioning of Software Based Hyper Converged Infrastructure at Hyderabad and Kota, Rajasthan.

Scope of Work:

  • Establishing Software based on-premises HCI over Certified Ready Nodes by the OEM of HCI with functionality indicated and with following scope. Bidder may note that unless excluded specifically all jobs for establishing are in their scope even it is not mentioned.
  • Supply & Installation of Server Systems as HCI Nodes at Hyderabad & Kota and their installation in existing Server Racks providing proper environment to them. The Architecture Diagram of the total solution is given below. In case HCI software is not pre-installed, install HCI software with required license.
  • Establish software defined common usable storage of 20 TB at Kota and 20 TB each at Main DC & DR DC of Hyderabad. The storage shall have enterprise data features like compression, encryption, de-duplication, erasure coding etc.
  • Integration with the ToR Switches, Datacenter Network with necessary configuration. The ToR switches are under procurement and will be of make Cisco/Extreme/Juniper or HP with network management software. Required cables, to be supplied for integrating/interconnecting to ToR with no single network path of failure.
  • Establishing a Unified “single pane of glass” management for virtual computer, Storage & networking resources.
  • Demonstration of following features/facilities:
    • Live migration of VMs across Main DC and DR-DC at Hyderabad.
    • HA VMs.
    • Data De-duplication, compression & encryption.
  • Migration of Existing Workloads at Hyderabad. It may be noted that many workloads are already virtualized. About 20 VMs to be migrated across Main DC and DR-DC.
  • Remote Access is not allowed from “The Internet” for any work, however Remote Access to systems from any unit of site may be permitted provided it does not violate RailTel customer IT Policy and Technical feasibility exists.
  • Provide training to staff to Administer and Configure the Total Solution. Training has to be given at Hyderabad site physically or can be given via Video Conference or similar means.

Warranty:

  • Software Warranty: The Software part of the system shall be covered under warranty for one year. The period shall start immediately from date of installation & commissioning. During the one-year period, all Software upgrades, updates and patches together with installation procedure shall be supplied through digital delivery. The warranty period shall cover Annual Technical Support and Onsite resident engineer. The Onsite engineer shall attend to all alerts raised by the HCI system and resolve issues end-to-end. The onsite warranty engineer shall be a Graduate with Computer Science as one of the subjects and be certified by the OEM. The onsite warranty support shall be carried out between 08:45 to 16:45 hours on all, Hyderabad working days (six-day week). No boarding, transport facility shall be provided. The onsite engineer may have to work beyond normal working hours in the presence of IT staff during failure condition. Contractor shall submit Police Verification Certificate (PVC) and medical certificate of staff to be engaged for the work to get entry pass and monthly pass. All stipulations and instructions given by CISF from time to time shall scrupulously be followed for entry, exit of men and materials and as also during execution of work for security purpose. Vendor needs to obtain approval before deploying the onsite engineer. Vendor and onsite engineer shall sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Hardware Warranty: The Hardware part of the system shall be covered under warranty for Five years on call basis (response within 1 working day and resolution within 3 days). No storage media will be returned during warranty period and replacement against failure to be provided without seeking the failed media.
  • All supplies shall be offered for inspection before delivery to site and after delivery also, to EIC assigned. Total execution plan, installation procedures shall be submitted in hard copy to EIC and approval obtained before working on it.
  • All documentation shall be given in softcopy and hardcopy (3 Sets) after completion of work and training.
