Ramkrishna Forgings Limited and Titagarh Wagons Limited (RKFL-TWL Consortium) has received the Letter of Award (LOA) from the Ministry of Railways, Government of India for “Manufacturing and Supply of Forged Wheels under long term agreement under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat”.
More Details:
- Ramkrishna Forgings Limited and Titagarh Wagons Limited (RKFL-TWL Consortium) has received the Letter of Award (LOA) dated 5 April, 2023 from the Ministry of Railways, Government of India w.r.t “Manufacturing and Supply of Forged Wheels under long term agreement under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat”.
- The total quantity of Forged Wheels to be supplied will be around 15,40,000 wheels over a period of 20 (twenty) years.
- Broad consideration or size of the Order/Contract: 12,226.50 Crores.
About Forged Wheels:
- The tender is for procurement of 15,40,000 Wheels Disc of different types of IR Rolling Stock weighing about 6.5 lakh tons over a period of 20 years.
- The quoted Base Price per ton of finished Wheel Disc as per the Agreement shall be considered for deciding the inter-se position of the offers.
- Upto about 15% of the Wheel Discs may have to be supplied in the form of assembled Wheelsets for which rough turned Axles, bull Gears/brake disc etc will be free supply items by Railways.
- Pre-specified assembly charges as per the Agreement would be reimbursed to the Supplier for assembly of each Wheelsets. A bidder should quote for full quantity, otherwise the offer will be rejected.
- Establishing facilities for manufacturing and testing of Wheels at the Wheel Factory;
- Establishing facilities for machining of Wheels, Axles and assembly of Wheels and Axles of capacity 6000 Wheelsets per annum at the Wheel Factory;
- Setting up Wheel Testing Centre at Railway site;
- Manufacturing and supplying of about 15,40,000 Wheels of different rolling stocks to the Railway over a period of 20 years as per the Supply Programme;
- Supplying assembled Wheelsets to the Railways as per the Supply Programme(rough turned Axles, bull Gears, brake disc etc. to be supplied by Railways free of cost basis); and
- Suppliers can supply to 3rd Party only after meeting the requirement of Railways as per the Supply Programme.
