RITES Ltd., a Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, acting for and on behalf of SJVN Thermal Private Ltd. (STPL), has invited tenders for the work of “Construction of Railway Siding including Earthwork in Railway Formation, RCC Box Culverts, Major Bridges, Track Linking, including supply of Track Ballast, Point & Crossing, P-Way Fittings & Fixture and Supply, Installation, Commissioning of In Motion Weigh Bridge etc., excluding supply of Rails and PSC Sleepers” (Package-IV) of Rail Infrastructure of Buxar Thermal Power Project (2 X 660 MW) at Chausa, Buxar, Bihar (Outside Plant in Private Land).”
- The work is estimated to cost Rs. 211.75 crores excluding GST.
- The time allowed for completion will be 18 (Eighteen) months.

Brief Scope of Work:
- The work to be governed by this contract shall cover Earthwork in Formation in Cutting & Filling, Construction of RCC Box Culverts, Major Bridges, Drains, Supply & Spreading of Blanketing material, P-Way Linking work including supply of Points & Crossing, Supply & Spreading of Machine Crushed Track Ballast, P-Way Fittings etc.
- The Site for the work will be made available in phases.
Additional Details:
- It will be the responsibility of the agency to prepare the Launching Scheme of girder bridges with design and Drawings as required by Railway.
- The Proposed Railway Track of STPL siding is crossing the existing Oil Pipeline of IOCL over which one Open web Girder Bridge of span 1 x 30.50 m (Bridge No.23) is to be constructed at Ch.6/600. During construction, various activities i.e. Excavation, Piling, Erection of Girders, etc. will be taken up very near to IOCL pipe line which may damage the pipeline by moving machineries. IOCL while issuing NOC for construction of bridge has laid down a condition of obtaining Insurance of its property/Pipeline.
- For Bridge No. 3 (ROB) at approximate Ch. 663 over Chausa – Chunni Road (MDR Road) Temporary Diversion of the existing Road will be required to be constructed during execution of the bridges. Agency shall note that it will be the responsibility of the agency to arrange for the required land for making diversion of road on lease/rent at his own cost and to build temporary diversion road as per MORTH specifications of MDR / same type of existing road. The approval by RCD for diversion road is also in the scope of the agency. Diversion Road is to be maintained for uninterrupted vehicle movement on road by the agency till completion and handing over of the bridge to STPL/RITES.
- For Bridge No.31 (ROB) at approximate Ch. 9932 over Buxar – Sasaram Road (SH 17) Temporary Diversion of the existing Road will be required to be constructed during execution of the bridges. Agency shall note that it will be the responsibility of the agency to arrange required land for making diversion of road on lease/rent at his own cost and to build temporary diversion road as per MORTH specifications of SH/ same type of existing road. The approval by RCD for diversion road is also in the scope of the agency. Diversion Road is to be maintained for uninterrupted vehicle movement on road by the agency till completion and handing over of the bridge to STPL/RITES.
