Background:
- RITES Limited (RITES) is a Mini Ratana, Category-I , Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways (MoR) intends to enter into the business of development, operation and maintenance of railway Private Freight Terminals (PFTs) under the extant policy guidelines of Ministry of Railway (Railway Board) (enclosed at Appendix VII) with entities having appropriate land parcels where PFT could be established, and meeting the eligibility criteria.
Scope of work:
- SPV shall utilize the land for development/ construction & operation of a Private Freight Terminal as per extant policy guidelines of Indian Railways. This may however require installation of fixed structure like warehouses etc. as per the end requirements.
- The SPV shall broadly be responsible for
- Obtaining approval from Indian Railways,
- Construction & operation management of PFT
- Development of any additional infrastructure as required at the Project Sites as per the provisions of an agreement to be entered into business.
- The SPV shall also be responsible for financing of all capital works, incurring O&M expenses, marketing of its services and realization of revenues.
- The approval of this PFT is proposed to be 30 years as per Railway Board policy from the date of signing of the Agreement.
- SPV shall have the right to provide service activity which shall comprise of the any one or combination of following business activities:
- Approval from Railway Board
- Construction of PFT
- Commissioning of PFT
- Marketing
- Operation of PFT
- Maintenance of PFT
