RRTS Update: Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, MD, NCRTC, inspects construction works of RRTS corridor in Meerut

Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, MD, NCRTC, along with other high officials visited Meerut and inspected the ongoing construction works of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.

More details:

  • During the inspection, Shri Singh visited the North Launching Shaft.
  • After this the officials reached the underground station of Begumpul and inspected the construction works there. 

  • Shri Singh also visited the underground station of Bhaisali.
  • Continuing the tour, Shri Singh reached Meerut Central Station. 
  • During the visit, he also inspected one of the working casting yards for the project. 
  • He reviewed the quality and parameters of the segments and concrete.

  • The tour concluded with a visit to Guldhar, Partapur and Rithani RRTS stations. 
  • Shri Singh took stock of the construction works as well as reviewed the measures being taken for passenger safety. 
  • He also inquired about the number of traffic marshals, traffic diversion scheme, use of impact protection vehicle, availability of rope lighting etc.
  • He also encouraged the workers working in such hot sun and heat and instructed the officials to provide them proper working environment and maximum facilities.

About Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor:

  • The Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor is approximately 82 km long corridor with 25 stations, which will cover the distance from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut in about 60 minutes (Currently, it takes around 3 hours to commute from Delhi to Meerut).
  • The total project completion cost of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is about INR 30274 Crore.
  • RRTS is a rail based high-speed transit system with a design speed of 180 kmph and an average speed of 100 kmph.
  • Once operational, it will be the fastest, most comfortable and safest mode of commuter transport in NCR.
