Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has awarded a major contract to Shivakriti International Limited for the installation and linking of BG railway track for the Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Beri railway project. The contract, worth INR 74.64 crore with completion period of 30 months, involves track ballast supply, rail welding, and associated P-Way works across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Scope of Work for the Contractor:
- Track Installation and Linking: The contractor will be responsible for the mechanised installation and linking of broad gauge (BG) railway track in both mainline and loopline sections, covering Bhanupali, Thaluh, Dharot, and Paharpur Yards, excluding tunnels.
- Supply of Track Ballast: The contractor must supply approximately 1,19,651 cubic metres of ballast for the track construction, ensuring proper track stability and alignment.
- Rail Welding: The work involves both mobile flash butt welding and alumino-thermic welding for a total of 6,000 rail joints, ensuring seamless track connectivity and operational efficiency.
- Provision of P-Way Fittings and H Beams: The contractor is responsible for supplying essential permanent way (P-Way) fittings and H beams required for track support and durability.
- Turnout Switch Assembly Supply: The contractor will provide various turnout switch assemblies, including 1 in 16, 1 in 12, and 1 in 8.5 configurations, for smooth directional changes at junctions and stations.

On 30th Aug 2024: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) received a Letter of Acceptance from the Electrical Department of South Eastern Railway (SER) for the “Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of a 132 KV Traction Substation, Sectioning Posts (SPs), and Sub-Sectioning Posts (SSPs) in the 2×25 KV system” on the Kharagpur-Bhadrak section of Kharagpur Division, aimed at supporting a 3000 MT load. The contract is valued at INR 202.88 crore, with a completion period of 18 months.
On 27th Aug 2024: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for the Southern Railway project involving the “Provision of Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC) with existing Dual Control Track Circuits (DCTC) at stations, and replacing the remaining Audio Frequency Track Circuits (AFTCs)” in the MAS-GDR and MSB-TBM automatic block signalling sections of Chennai Division. The project is valued at INR 111.39 crore, with a scheduled completion period of 18 months.
