RVNL invites tender for various works including bridges and track linking between Sithaphalamandi-Lallaguda of South Central Railway

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has invited bids for Construction of roadbed, major & minor bridges, earth retaining walls, buildings and track linking works (excluding supply of rails and sleepers, thick webs switches and special sleepers) in connection with track connectivity between Sithaphalamandi-Lallaguda (on SC-KZP main line) – (Approx. length 3.1 km) on Hyderabad and Secunderabad Divisions of South Central Railway in Telangana state, India.

Scope of Work:

  • This work pertains to Construction of roadbed, major & minor bridges, earth retaining walls, drain diversions, buildings and track linking works (excluding supply of rails and sleepers, thick webs switches and special sleepers) in connection with track connectivity between stations i.e Sitaphalmandi (HYB Div.) and Lallaguda (SC Div.- on SC-KZP main line-3.1 km) on South Central Railway in Telangana state, India.
  • Seethaphalmandi (HYB Div.) – Lallaguda (SC Div.) is a very important track connectivity in view of Railway operational benefits. This will connect and facilitate direct movement of trains from the Mahabubnagar and Kazipet legs duly avoiding the present circuitous route via Malkajgiri and Moulali- C cabin.
  • Apart from goods traffic, the proposed line will be helpful to negotiate the shortest Route and also avoid the congestion between MLY’C cabin & Secunderabad’ A cabin. Hence Railway has decided to provide Rail connectivity between Sithaphalamandi and Lallaguda.
  • Proposed work starts from Sitaphalmandi station and passes through Sithaphalamandi’ A’ Cabin, B cabin and ends at Lallaguda cabin on SC- KZP main line Inner ring road of Hyderabad is crosses the Railway track near Alugadda Bavi bridge (RUB) at Km.1.20.  The major portion of the section lies adjacent to a heavily built up area and approachable by road is from Mettuguda Junction.

Introduction of contract packages:

  • The tendered works are located on the alignment between Sitaphalmandi station and Lallagda station on SC-KZP main line. The details are given in the bid document. The bridges and track for doubling are proposed parallel to the existing track with a minimum track centre of 5.3 metre on the left/right side of the existing line.
  • The scope of work includes earthwork in formation, bridge works (other than steel works), bridge works (supply of steel items), Track Linking/dismantling works, Earth retaining walls of  MCC/RCC, Buildings, drain works and other miscellaneous works, supply of cement and provision of site facility etc. Total length of the proposed new line is 3.10 Kilometres(approx.).

The proposed line between Sithaphalamandi and Lallaguda has the following features:  

  • Approach to project length is available through the Corporation road from Mettuguda end near RuB. The contractor shall plan for approach roads to the various sites of work after conducting a detailed site survey and should include the cost of inputs for any such approach roads in his bid for the work.
  • However, in case, any existing road needs to be widened or bridge needs to be strengthened & there is no alternative road available to the site of work and the authority owning the said road submits demand to RVNL to carry out some specific works, RVNL shall get such works executed through the existing contractor or any other agency. RVNL shall make payment for such work. 

Eligibility:

Average Annual Construction Turnover:

  • Minimum average annual construction turnover in equivalent INR 93.92 Cr Calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last three financial years (refer note below the table).

Experience:

  • Execution as contractor, or subcontractor, at least One contract with a value of at least INR 28.18 Cr that has been successfully or substantially completed within the last Seven  years before the deadline for submission of the bids, and that is similar to the proposed work. 

The similar work here shall be that which includes quantity of key activity mentioned below: 

  • Execution of minimum quantity of 46,000 Cum of Earthwork / blanketing/sub base in railway/road formations/ runways/taxiway system of airports/dams/canals/power plants through single contract, and
  • Execution of minimum quantity of 3,300 Cum of Concrete of RCC/PSC in earth retaining walls, Bridges through a single contract, or
  • Construction & launching of PSC girders/Slabs and/or Composite girders with 2 spans of min.18.30 m each or more in Railway/road/metro rail bridges (including Viaducts), or
  • Execution as contractor, or subcontractor, at least Two contracts, each with a value of at  least INR 16.44 Cr that have been successfully or are substantially completed within the last Seven years before the deadline for the submission of the bids, and that are similar to the  proposed work.

Each similar work here shall be that which includes quantity of key activity mentioned below: 

  • Execution of minimum quantity of 23,000 Cum of Earthwork / blanketing/sub base in railway/road formations/ runways /taxiway system of airports/dams/canals/power plants through each contract, and
  • Execution of minimum quantity of 1,655 Cum of Concrete of RCC/PSC in earth retaining walls, Bridges through a single contract, or
  • Construction & launching of PSC girders/Slabs and/or Composite girders with one span of min. 18.30m or more in Railway/road/metro rail bridges (including Viaducts).
