Highlighting the importance of health and sanitation on the occasion of ‘Menstrual Hygiene Day’ which falls on May 28, 2019, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has yet again set Social Responsibility goals with the installation of ‘Biodegradable Sanitary Napkin Dispensing Machine’ at Charbagh Metro Station. The inauguration of this machine was done by Dr. Vandana Mishra, who has been actively involved in Women welfare for many years.
The machine sponsored by LMRC shall prove to be a blessing in disguise for women passengers who’ll be able to purchase a sanitary napkin for just Rs 5 by inserting coins in denominations of Rs 1, 2 or Rs 5 in the sanitary napkin dispensing machine. Keeping in mind the convenience and comfort level of the passengers, the machine has been installed inside the women’s washroom.
The sanitary napkins dispensing machines has been installed in co-operation with Panthalassa, an NGO and is the first in a series of total four machines that shall be installed at metro stations namely: Munshipulia, Hazratganj and CCS Airport Metro Station in a few days. The unveiling of the beautiful pink machine received tremendous support from the passengers and was highly appreciated by all.
