Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM, South Central Railway conducts review meeting on safety, punctuality and freight loading

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway conducted a review meeting o­n safety, punctuality and freight loading of the zone on 26th April, 2022 along with Principal heads of the departments at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

  • Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded participated in the meeting through video conference.
  • The General Manager laid primary focus o­n the safety and punctuality of train operations over the zone. He discussed various action plans to avoid untoward incidents that might affect the punctuality of the trains. In this regard, he instructed the officials to have a focused approach and impart regular training to all the safety staff such as conducting field level seminars, simulated training for the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots, etc. 
  • In addition, he also advised the officials to set up individual counseling sessions for the field staff o­n adherence of safety guidelines so that they avoid taking recourse to any shortcuts, while strictly following the safety procedures. Further, the General Manager instructed the officials to enhance the supervision by conducting frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements without fail.
  • Shri Arun Kumar Jain also held a detailed review o­n freight loading performance of the zone. He emphasized o­n improving the coal loading over the zone to meet the demand of the power-houses. He advised the officials to continue their efforts to further increase the coal transportation. 
  • The Business Developmental Units of all the six divisions gave a brief presentation o­n the new commodities added to the freight basket. The General Manager appreciated the efforts and advised them to take up every opportunity to further boost the freight loading and attain the targets set by the Railway board.
  • Further, the General Manager also reviewed the speed restrictions over the zone and advised the officials to remove the caution orders to the possible extent wherever feasible, so as to further speed up the movement of trains.
