Shri Manoj Joshi, GM, Kolkata Metro inspects Noapara-Bimanbandar Metro stretch

Shri Manoj Joshi General Manager, Metro Railway, Kolkata along with senior officials of Metro Railway conducted an inspection of Noapara-Bimanbandar Metro stretch to assess the progress of Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro project.

  • Shri Joshi started the inspection by planting a sapling at the Noapara project site. 
  • He inspected Dum Dum Cantonment, Jessore Road Metro stations and Bimanbandar underground construction site and yard.  
  • He held a meeting with Construction Company officials at Bimanbandar Project Site to assess the progress of the work. 
  • Shri Joshi also inspected a Quality Control Laboratory at Bimanbandar Project site.
  • Principal Head of Departments of Metro Railway accompanied General Manager during this inspection.
  • He expressed his satisfaction seeing the progress of works of this project and instructed concerned officials to maintain the good pace of work.
  • Shri Manoj Joshi also interacted with emergency and essential staff in a running Maintenance Special this morning.
  • He enquired about their convenience.
  • They expressed their satisfaction and thanked Metro Railway for running such services during the lockdown.

Maintenance Special Services:

To ensure social distancing in Metro premises and trains, Metro will run 104 (52 UP & 52 DN) Maintenance Special Services instead of 90 Maintenance Special Services from 12.07.2021 (Monday) .

  • In the morning, the first service will leave from Dakshineswar and Kavi Subhash at 08:00 hrs (instead of 08.30 hrs.) and the last service will leave from Dakshineswar and Kavi Subhash at 11:30 hrs (no change in timing).
  • In the evening, the first service will leave from Dakshineswar and Kavi Subhash at 15:30 hrs (instead of 15.45 hrs.) and the last service will leave from Dakshineswar and Kavi Subhash at 19.15 hrs (instead of 19.00 hrs).
  • These services will play at an interval of 8 minutes during peak hours from Monday to Saturday. 
  • There will be no services o­n Sunday.
  • Essential staff associated with health care service, veterinary service, Assembly, law and order, courts, social welfare homes, banks, correctional services, power, drinking water supply, telecom, internet, fire services, disaster management and civil defence, sanitation, NGO and Private Sector associated with essential services, food and beverages, insurance, press, sewerage and funeral services etc. can avail these services with their proper ID and Metro Smart Cards. 
  • No tokens will be issued.
  • All commuters availing these services are requested to maintain social distancing and all other Covid Protocols strictly in Metro premises and o­n the trains.
