Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager inspected the stretch of Noapara-Baranagar- Dakshineswar of the North-South Metro corridor on 28.01.2021. Senior officers of various departments and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) accompanied him during this inspection.
- Shri Joshi made an extensive inspection of Noapara, Baranagar and Dakshineswar stations.
- He inspected the Telecom Maintenance Rooms, Train Timing Indication Boards (TTIB), Platforms, Ticket Counters, Customer Care Centres, Escalators, AFC-PC gates and the Signaling System.
- He expressed his satisfaction seeing the overall arrangements specially in Baranagar and Dakshineswar stations as the stretch of Baranagar and Dakshineswar of North-South Metro corridor is expected to be opened very shortly.
- He instructed the concerned officers to sort out the pending issues so that the section can be opened at the earliest.
Recent Achievement:
The construction work of Noapara-Barasat via Bimanbandar Metro project has been going on in full swing. During Covid times and also in the new normal situation, a significant progress of this project has been achieved.
- Casting of the top slab of Bimanbandar station started on 26th June, 2020 during the lockdown period.
- On 23rd January, 2021, top slab casting of Bimanbandar station has been completed.
- For completion of this work, 4590 MT steel has been utilized.
- The entire top slap casting work of this station is now nearing completion.
