Shri Manoj Joshi, GM, Kolkata Metro Railway reviews maintenance works of North-South and East-West Metro corridors

Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway held a high level meeting with senior officers of Metro Railway o­n 26.07.2021. During this meeting, he took stock of the maintenance works of North-South and East-West Metro corridors. 

  • He instructed concerned officials to complete all such works within the deadline in order to provide better services and facilities to all Metro users.
  • Detailed review of o­ngoing works connected with power supply, fire safety measures, lifts & escalators and ventilation systems in underground stations was carried out.
  • The General Manager also reviewed the progress of Covid vaccination drive of Metro staff and their beneficiaries in today’s meeting. 
  • Shri Joshi instructed to arrange more mobile vaccination camps in order to facilitate beneficiaries specially the aged people to get the Covid vaccines easily.

Inspection of Noapara Carshed Depot:

  • Meanwhile, on 16.07.2021, Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway, inspected Noapara Carshed Depot. 
  • He inspected Motormen Training School & state of the art Dynamic Simulator provided for training of Motormen. 
  • He also inspected the Periodic Overhauling Workshop, Rolling Stock Shed & construction site of the new shed.
  • Shri Joshi inaugurated a CNC Axle Turning Machine & Two tier Inspection Bay for inspection and maintenance of roof mounted equipment. 
  • He also reviewed the performance of Carshed & discussed action taken for improving reliability of rolling stock.

Metro Services:

  • For the convenience of the Metro commuters, it has been decided to add 12 more Metro services (UP & DN)   from 26.07.2021(Monday). Metro will run 220 (110 UP & 110DN) daily services instead of 208 services from Monday to Friday so that the passengers can travel comfortably.
  • Out of these services, 150 services (75UP & 75DN) will run in between Kavi Subhash and Dakshineswar.  Metro services will run at an interval of 6 minutes during morning and evening peak hours.
  • First Service:
    • At 07.30 hrs  from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash instead of 08.00 hrs.
    • At 07.30 hrs from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar   instead of 08.00 hrs.
    • At  07.30 hrs from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineswar instead of 08.00 hrs.
    • At 07.30 hrs from Dum Dum to Kavi Subhash instead of 08.00 hrs.
  • Last Service:
    • At 19.48 hrs from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash (No change)
    • At 20.00 hrs from Dum Dum to  Kavi Subhash(No change)
    • At 20.00 hrs from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineswar (No change)
  • On Saturdays, 104 numbers (52 UP & 52 DN) Maintenance Special Services will be run o­nly for essential staff from 08.00 hrs to 11.30 hrs and 15.30 hrs to 19.15 hrs between Kavi Subhash and Dakshinewar.
  • There will be no services on Sundays
  • East – West Metro services will remain unchanged.
  • No tokens will be issued.
